The Leadership ChallengeThe Leadership Challenge Workshop®

The Leadership Challenge Workshop is highly interactive and stimulating exploration of The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership® through personal introspection, brief lectures, facilitated conversations, workbook exercises, and video cases.

The program is based on the statistical research and case data collected from over 25,000 leaders and 100,000 constituents in a variety of private and public sector organizations over the past 25 years by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, and published in the award-winning book, The Leadership Challenge, now in its fourth edition.

The Leadership Challenge Workshop is significantly enhanced with the inclusion of the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI)[1], a 360° leadership behaviors assessment tool that allows individuals to gather anonymous input from a wide variety of members of their organization on their perception of the individual’s behaviors as a leader. 30 behaviors have been discerned and defined by Kouzes and Posner that characterize leaders who get extraordinary things done in organizations by mobilizing others to willingly follow their lead and take action. The Leadership Practices Inventory is one of the most widely used 360° leadership behaviors assessment tools in the world.

As a result of The Leadership Challenge Workshop, individuals are better able to:

  • Identify their own leadership strengths and blind spots
  • Communicate fundamental values and beliefs
  • Focus people’s efforts on key values through their own actions
  • Understand and communicate an organization’s culture and direction
  • Inspire others to share in a common vision
  • Search for opportunities to innovate and take the risks needed for growth
  • Build collaborative environments, and strengthen teamwork and trust
  • Identify opportunities for others to grow and excel in their work
  • Express recognition for the contributions of individuals and the accomplishments teams
