Facilitator Development and Certification

We are committed to developing the talents of human resources consultants, teaching and training professionals, business managers, team leaders and coaches to facilitate The Citizen Leader Seminars. We want our clients and your constituents to be able to teach and apply the concepts and frameworks, as needed, to help teams and individuals more enthusiastically and collaboratively accomplish their noble goals.

We build your capacity by offering Facilitator Development and Certification. Depending on the time you have to devote yourself to the process, your confidence with the concepts and the content, and you success in facilitating, we will certify you as either a co-facilitator or lead facilitator. The certification criteria and process are as follows:

The Certification Criteria

Our primary desire for you, as we coach you through the certification process, is that you feel and be competent and confident as a facilitator of The Citizen Leader Seminars. Our principal criteria for certifying any individual as a facilitator are as follows.

The facilitator:

1. Shows command of the material – the underlying philosophy, the linkages among the parts, the linkage to your organization’s leadership model (if any).
2. Demonstrates the ability to help participants link the material to their environment, and apply the material to a tangible, current initiative.
3. Shows a willingness to internalize the material, present it in his/her own voice, plays with different options and uses his/her good intuition to help participants understand and learn for their further benefits – all the while conducting himself/herself in a way that puts the participant first.

The Certification Process

There are three steps in the Facilitator Certification Process:

1. Participate in a session of individual seminar(s) that you would like to lead and facilitate in the future.
   
   
2. Coaching Session: Prepare for and participate in a The Citizen Leader Seminars facilitator coaching session with Peter Alduino or another Master Facilitator. We will provide you with a Facilitator Guide in advance of this coaching session, during which you will be asked to practice facilitating portions of seminar(s). You will receive feedback from our Master Facilitator and from other participants in the session (if any). If you and the Master Facilitator agree that you have met the certification criteria during this facilitator coaching session, we will certify you as a co-facilitator. This certifies you to co-facilitate a session of individual seminar(s) with a lead facilitator or a Master Facilitator.
   
   
3. Facilitator Certification: Prepare and co-facilitate portions of The Citizen Leader Seminars with a group of seminar participants, and receive feedback from one of our Master Facilitators. You might also have the opportunity to observe and work with other certified facilitators. Ideally, you will have met the criteria for lead facilitator during this co-facilitation. If you and the Master Facilitator agree that that is the case, we will be honored to certify you as a lead facilitator.

Your Investment

Your investment in your facilitator development and certification will depend on these factors:

• number of seminars on which you would like to be coached and certified
• the number of days devoted to the certification session
• number of individual facilitators to be certified
• the degree of tailoring or customization that you might require (if any)
