Our client’s Corporate Training and Development organization sought to replace its existing third party leadership development course with a customized seminar that would both be solidly based on the research of thought leaders in the field of leadership and on business practices in world-class organizations and be company-centric that is, support the language that the company used internally in referring to its desired leadership competencies. Additionally, our client wanted the seminar to:
Our ApproachOur work with our client was a collaborative venture with Prism Consulting Group. Our collaboration allowed us to bring the best thinking to the service of our client, and allowed for us to be readily available to the client with consultants in both San Francisco and New York. We began, as we do with every one of our clients, by forming a collaborative relationship with the client’s professional development staff to stay aligned on expectations and deliverables, and on the development and implementation of the seminars. Three of our Leadership at Work® seminars served as the basis of our client’s new leadership development course. We tailored the materials to include the company’s leadership model, and drew direct linkages between that model and the roles of a leader covered in our seminars. We asked each executive to identify and be prepared to apply the material to an “important innovation, change or improvement that you think needs to occur in your environment for which you would be willing to take the lead.” ImplementationThe new leadership development course currently serves as an essential program in the senior management development curriculum. It is taught in the United States and internationally. Through a licensing agreement, we allows our client to publish and conduct the course under the guidance of a certified lead facilitator. We have conducted lead facilitator certification programs, and continue to coach our client’s Training and Development professionals to achieve lead facilitator status. We continue to provide refinements and updates to the materials. |
